Curriculum Announcement: NEW Holiday activity - Unwrap the Truth About...

Decorate your classroom with the gifts of financial wisdom! Students design gift boxes with a financial myth on the outside. When you flip to the layer below, the truth is revealed!

 

Materials:

  1. Student Worksheet - 1 copy per student, printed single-sided
  2. Bulletin Board Title
  3. Colored pens, pencils, or markers
  4. Tape or staples to hang up the templates

 

Directions:

  1. Distribute the Student Worksheet
  2. Set the stage: Review the worksheet directions.
  3. Students choose one of the financial myths listed or to create their own.
  4. Students create their gift, using the template in the Student Worksheet. They:
    1. Write a financial myth on the gift tag of the outside
    2. Write the financial truth on the inside
    3. Decorate their gift
    4. Write their name on the back of the worksheet
  5. Hang up the Bulletin Board Title and the completed Student Templates.

Kathryn (she/her) is excited to join the NGPF team after 9 years of experience in education as a mentor, tutor, and special education teacher. She is a graduate of Cornell University with a degree in policy analysis and management and has a master's degree in education from Brooklyn College.
